Will Legend · Community Care
“Hold Me In Your Arms” Community Support Programme
Hold Me In Your Arms.
Let care become part of everyday life.

Through “Hold Me In Your Arms”, Will Legend connects local partners, businesses, organisations and schools with people who need support. We listen, match resources, arrange activities, invite partners to participate and share outcomes, turning goodwill into visible, continuing community action.
Two programmes, one commitment to the community
Will Legend’s community programmes share one starting point: listening to people’s needs and connecting partners with practical ways to help. One focuses on care in everyday life; the other supports children’s learning and educational opportunities.

WHO IS WILL LEGEND
Who is Will Legend?
Why the programme began
A bridge between goodwill and the community
Founder William Hung was born in a rural village and grew up in a public housing estate. These experiences gave him a deep appreciation of the importance of community care for people and for society. A greeting, a mooncake or a scarf can bring tangible warmth to someone who needs it.
He believes many people are willing to help but need a bridge that shows them how to turn goodwill into action. “Hold Me In Your Arms” connects people who want to contribute with real community needs, so that care can reach those who need it.

Purpose
Why “Hold Me In Your Arms”?
Sometimes a hot meal, a scarf, a trolley, or simply someone walking beside you meets an immediate need. Care does not have to begin with a grand plan. When someone reaches out, another person knows they have not been forgotten by their community. In these small encounters, a shared hope takes shape: that people, whatever their circumstances, can be seen and supported.
The name speaks to the closeness and warmth of helping someone. First, we listen to what they need. Then we offer an arm and walk alongside them. For one person, a festive meal may bring comfort; for another, a raincoat, sun hat or trolley for daily work may be more urgent. Community support begins with listening. One type of gift or one event cannot answer every need.
Will Legend seeks to support older people, cleaners, waste pickers, low-income households and others who find it difficult to access help. We work with churches, social service organisations, restaurants, recycling shops, businesses and local residents to understand needs and arrange support with respect for each person’s wishes and dignity.
SDG CONTEXT
How does this relate to the Sustainable Development Goals?
Dignified community support addresses issues recognised by SDG 10, Reduced Inequalities. Bringing businesses, social service organisations, local partners and schools together also reflects SDG 17, Partnerships for the Goals. Depending on the actual project, food and practical support may relate to SDG 1, No Poverty, or SDG 11, Sustainable Cities and Communities.
Within Will Legend’s Green-blueprint, environmental conservation, social care and cultural inclusion are connected. Glacier education can take people far from home; “Hold Me In Your Arms” reminds us that sustainable development can also begin close to home, with a meal and a thoughtful visit.
The goals provide context for the programme. A single activity does not eliminate poverty or inequality, and this programme does not claim United Nations certification.
TRACK RECORD
From one act of care to continuing community support
Since 2023, “Hold Me In Your Arms” has continued to respond to changing local needs. At Lunar New Year, the Dragon Boat Festival, Mid-Autumn Festival, Winter Solstice and Christmas, Will Legend visits older residents and shares festive gifts; support is also arranged when needs arise during the rest of the year. A gesture may take the form of food, fruit, honey or a scarf. Practical support can include trolleys, raincoats, sun hats, towels, clothing and disinfectant products. Some activities are arranged by Will Legend, some involve donated resources, and others draw on our local networks and on-site coordination.

Wah Fu Siu Mei and Will Legend: a commissioned act of community care
Wah Fu Siu Mei commissioned Will Legend to plan a “Hold Me In Your Arms” community activity. We supported programme design, meal-voucher and lunch-box arrangements, local networks, recipient coordination, on-site distribution and impact communication. The partner joined the community in person to share food and good wishes with older residents and neighbours. As a traditional Hong Kong siu mei shop, Wah Fu Siu Mei gave back through its freshly prepared food; its brand appeared naturally in a genuine community story.

02
Support for everyday hygiene

Will Legend donated WillNature® disinfectant products to Choi Ping Baptist Church through the programme to support everyday cleaning and disinfection in the community. Care can arrive during a festival, or as practical help that is useful day to day.
03
A jar of honey connecting the mountains and Hong Kong

Will Legend purchases honey from beekeepers in the Dagu Glacier area of Sichuan, supporting local livelihoods and ongoing beekeeping. The programme also brings churches and local partners together to share honey, fruit and food with older residents, cleaners and others in need. Dragon Boat Festival gifts have included rice dumplings. One gift can connect mountain livelihoods, bee conservation and care in Hong Kong.

Ways to participate
How can partners take part?
01
Commission a community care project
Tell Will Legend whom you hope to support, when you would like to act and what resources are available. Together with local and social service partners, we can understand needs and design festive outreach, community visits or practical assistance. Partners may also take part in person.
02
Sponsor or donate useful resources
Businesses and organisations may provide food or daily essentials, or purchase WillNature® products and glacier honey for donation where appropriate. They can also explore sponsoring Sustainable Health Service visits to social service or educational premises. Products, quantities, recipients and delivery arrangements are agreed before each project.
03
Invite employees or students to participate
Businesses can connect employee engagement, CSR or festive activities with real community needs. With suitable educational and safeguarding arrangements, schools can help students learn about the lives of people around them. The focus is on listening and respect.
04
Build beyond a single activity
A visit can be the beginning. Feedback from local partners may lead to regular resources, community health work, producer stories or nature education. Will Legend can help document delivery, participation and outcomes so partners can decide what comes next, including education support in Xinjiang and the Glacier Journey.
Extend the partnership
From Community Care to Education and Nature in Xinjiang
A jar of glacier honey can connect mountain beekeepers with communities in Hong Kong. A partnership can also grow from a thoughtful gift into education support in Xinjiang and first-hand learning. Businesses, organisations and schools can commission Will Legend to combine community care, learning resources, exchanges and the Glacier Journey, contributing to society while discovering the people and nature behind those resources.
The Xinjiang Glacier Journey follows Green-blueprint’s educational thread: glaciers and water, land and food, and oceans and air. From glaciers and headwaters to flowering plants, bees and beekeeping, it can extend to cold-water fish farming and inland aquaculture to explore relationships between water, technology, food and local economies. Responsibly managed aquaculture can complement seafood supplies and open discussions about reducing reliance on wild marine catches and managing production’s environmental impacts.
Will Legend can contribute programme design, school and local partner connections, resource matching, visit and exchange coordination, educational content and impact communication. The programme is agreed around each partner’s goals, the season, route and access arrangements.
REAL EXPERIENCE
First-hand Participation | Rotary International District 3450
William took Rotary International District 3450 participants to the fish farm in Kalasu Township, Nileke County, Ili, Xinjiang, bringing a local industry case into field learning. This offers a concrete way to explore connections between natural resources, technology and local lives.
A 2025 China City News report describes local ice and snow meltwater, smart feeding and cleaning technology, and income opportunities for farming and herding residents through farming and processing work.
Continue the work
Helping care continue
A clear goal can begin with one meaningful community action.
Will Legend connects committed partners with local needs and helps turn care into action.
Inspired by William’s upbringing, the programme seeks to help people with fewer resources feel supported in daily life and during festivals. Today, the work is made possible together with the Will Legend team, churches, restaurants, social service organisations, businesses, schools and local residents. Partners can commission a project, sponsor resources, make donations or participate directly. Income from planning and delivery helps the team and its professional partners continue responding to community needs.
If you have a community care goal, Will Legend can work with you to find a practical approach. Tell us whom you hope to support, what resources you can contribute and your initial timing.
