Three videos showcasing Will Legend’s Glacier, Land, and Ocean

This article features three climate action videos that helps the public to understand the importance of glaciers, land, and oceans in safeguarding the Earth’s health.

The “Green-blueprint” – the world’s first initiative to address climate change by integrating ecosystems of glaciers, land, and oceans, fostering three major visions—environmental protection, social philanthropy, and ethnic integration, working hand in hand with global citizens to walk the path of integration of “humans, society, economy, and nature”, practicing a peaceful, healthy, prosperous, and sustainable future.

Sea levels would rise by more than 60 meters by 2050!

By 2050, the global average surface temperature will have risen by more than 2°C above pre-industrial levels. Global warming will cause extreme weather events, bringing the land and oceans to the brink of collapse, and leading to water, food, and air crises. Nature is calling for guardians—the guardians of humanity and nature—through “wind”, hoping that Willy Bee can return to the world of 2020 with the “Green-blueprint”. Willy Bee and Flowery demonstrate resilience, perseverance, and courage, persisting in their goal to obtain the complete “Green-blueprint” and 17 SDG gems. Then, by educating the public to protect glaciers, land, and oceans, they aim to mitigate global warming and climate change, achieving a peaceful, healthy, prosperous, and sustainable future.

“Willy Bee – The Journey of Glacier, Land and Ocean”

This is a storybook William Hung created. Through the journey of Willy Bee and Flowery across the “Third Pole Glacier Journey”, it conveys the message that while protecting glaciers, we also need to protect the land and oceans. We need to safeguard the health of the Earth in a holistic way and convey the philosophy of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature to children, young people, and the public, to promote the world towards a better future of sustainable development. Perhaps we are not feeling the immediate threat yet. But imagine if all the mountain glaciers – the world’s “water towers” – disappeared, and the ice caps of Antarctica and the Arctic melted away, as a coastal city, could Hong Kong, or other low-lying countries on Earth, escape the threat of rising sea levels and flooding? If we do not adopt a low-carbon, non-toxic lifestyle and we continue to pollute the soil, will the food produced on land still be healthy? If we allow toxic substances to flow into the oceans through water sources, will the marine ecosystem remain healthy? Will it still be able to help us absorb greenhouse gases and release oxygen? This is the creative background of the “Willy Bee – The Journey of Glacier, Land and Ocean” story, starting with glaciers to tell “The Glacier Story of Hong Kong”. In this way, we can simultaneously protect the vital elements for human life—water, food, and air. Bridging Scientific Research, Disseminating Science Outreach, Sharing of Education. Glacier, Land, and Ocean draw the “Green-blueprint”, connecting the two places and different sectors to build an integrated relationship, also creating a platform for businesses, enterprises, organizations to give back to society and nature. This, in turn, provides resources for scientists, sponsors students, and injects economic momentum into rural and mountainous communities, practicing the “Sharing of Economic Achievements”. By simultaneously implementing philosophy and practices, joining hands with the people to embark on a path of Integration of “Humans, Society, Economy and Nature”, moving the world towards a bright future of sustainable development. Will Legend fully integrates the core philosophy of the “Green-blueprint”, the harmonious coexistence between humans and nature, into the mission of “Integration of Two Places” – that is, ethnic integration. This connects different sectors and people in both places, implementing conservation, education, science outreach, cultural exchange, and sustainable development goals. This is the origin of “Green-blueprint – Ethnic Integration”. This innovative initiative has also led to the “Symphony Hong Kong, Beautiful Xinjiang, Integration of Two Places” Campaign – Forging A Strong Sense of Community for Chinese Nation.

Safeguarding Glacier and Water – “Let the Glacier Cool” Conservation & Education Programme

Will Legend, together with the Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, launched the “Let the Glacier Cool” Conservation and Education Programme, which is the Nation’s First Hong Kong-Mainland of China Glacier Preservation for Joint Action. On March 21, 2023, Will Legend founded the “Let the Glacier Cool” Conservation and Education Programme, becoming its founding organization, with CEO William Hung as its founder. In the same year, Will Legend received a response from Researcher Wang Feiteng of the Northwest Institute of Eco-Environment and Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, expressing his full support for the “Let the Glacier Cool”. Researcher Wang Feiteng: “If all glaciers and ice sheets melt, global sea levels will rise by more than 60 meters. Let’s work with Will Legend’s “Let the Glacier Cool”. Let the Glacier Cool, Let the Earth Cool. Glaciers and ice sheets are vital for the survival of humans and other organisms. A decrease in glacial water storage will severely impact future water resources for humans and ecosystems, and will also affect sea-level rise. “Let the Glacier Cool” brings the public closer to Antarctica, the Arctic, and the Third Pole, strengthening polar protection. By bridging “Scientific Research, Science Outreach Dissemination, Education Sharing”, Will Legend constructs comprehensive science outreach and educational activities that translate into everyday measures to address climate change, it is a geoengineering initiative in which every member of the society can participate, and it will also be the best human intervention measure to address climate change. Seeking to reduce emissions and lower temperatures at their source, mitigating the climate crisis caused by global warming. NASA points out that a large portion of Earth’s freshwater exists in a solid (frozen) form. It is stored in glaciers around the world, including the ice sheets of Greenland and Antarctica, and of course, the Third Pole (mountain glaciers). When these glaciers melt or collapse, the water flows into the oceans, causing sea levels to rise. Xinjiang Tianshan Glacier No. 1 is the oldest glacier observed in China, having been observed for over 65 years since 1959. The World Glacier Monitoring Service (WGMS) has selected over 40 glaciers to represent global mountain glaciers, with Tianshan Glacier No. 1 being the only one located in China. As one of the ten glaciers monitored globally, it provides a good indicator of glacier changes in China and across Central Asia. Sichuan Dagu Glacier was selected by the World Glacier Monitoring Service and UNESCO as a global priority glacier for rescue in 2024. In the same year, the Global Glacier Casualty List (GGCL) highlights 18 renowned glaciers worldwide, chosen due to their impending disappearance and their significant scientific and economic value, to raise awareness on the dramatic changes in glaciers are undergoing and the urgency of their preservation. Dagu Glacier is the only glacier from China included in the list is projected to disappear by 2030. Antarctica is the southernmost continent on Earth, located in the Antarctic region of the Southern Hemisphere, and is the geographic South Pole. Most of Antarctica lies within the Antarctic Circle and is surrounded by the Southern Ocean. According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, both major ice sheets—Greenland and Antarctica—have been losing mass since at least 1990, with the highest rate of loss occurring between 2010 and 2019. They are expected to continue losing mass. The National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI) stated that every year, the Arctic sea ice cap expands and thickens during winter and then shrinks and thins during summer. In recent decades, increasing temperatures have caused rapid reductions in ice extent in all seasons, but especially at the end of summer.

Safeguarding Land and Food – “Urban Wildlife Corridor” Conservation & Education Programme

Celebrating the birthday of Willy Bee on 520: Flowery will be waiting at the foot of the Tianshan Mountains, in Tangbula, where sunflowers bloom. The “Urban Wildlife Corridor” promotes planting flowering plants, protecting bees, using low-carbon, non-toxic products WillNature®, and “Sustainable Health Service” as everyday measures to address climate change, thereby restoring land, regenerating forests, and protecting biodiversity, safeguarding SDG15 land and food, and achieving livable climates, livable cities, and promoting human health and well-being. On May 20, 2022, Will Legend established the “Urban Wildlife Corridor” Conservation and Education Programme, becoming its founding organization, with CEO William Hung as its founder. May 20th is also World Bee Day, the United Nations day for bees, and Will Legend deliberately chose this day for the programme’s launch to convey a clear message to the public – planting flowering plants, protecting bees, and adopting low-carbon, non-toxic lifestyles as daily measures to address climate change. They are also the best human intervention measures to combat global warming, and are fundamental to coexistence of all things, biodiversity, and sustainable development goals (SDGs). The “Urban Wildlife Corridor” Conservation & Education Programme consists of three core initiatives: 1. “Home for Bees” – Encourages the public not to kill bees in any way, including with toxic pesticides. Instead, the public can adopt a “Relocate and Return” approach, returning bees to their natural environment so they can continue to play their role in nature, contributing to biodiversity and human food security. 2. “Sunflower Biodiversity Charging Station” – Encourages businesses, organizations/institutions, and schools to plant flowering plants such as sunflowers as “nature reserve” between forests and cities for pollinating insects like bees and butterflies. Planting and protecting flowering plants are crucial for the survival of pollinating insects, providing nectar and pollen for bees and butterflies. In turn, bees and butterflies pollinate flowering plants, promoting forest regeneration, releasing more habitat, and promoting biodiversity. 3. “Sustainable Health Service” – Businesses, organizations/institutions, schools, and homes should start at the source by reducing or discontinuing the use of toxic pesticides, cleaning agents, and disinfectants to reduce soil and water pollution. Adopting a low-carbon, non-toxic lifestyle and utilizing the low-carbon, non-toxic WillNature® service process for deep cleaning and disinfection of air conditioners, sofas, carpets, and furniture can eliminate allergens, bacteria, viruses, and pests. This simultaneously protects human health by avoiding the health risks associated with toxic pesticides and cleaning agents. In this way, the survival of pollinating insects such as bees and butterflies, as well as flowering plants, can be effectively protected, safeguarding terrestrial life (SDG15) and clean water sources (SDG6). Given the vastness of the land, past conservation efforts have taken two main approaches: one is a rather general approach, summarizing it as “environmental protection”; the other focuses on protecting individual terrestrial species. However, regardless of the method, implementation has always proven difficult. While the aim is to raise public awareness, it’s impossible to provide tangible, visible, and concrete examples for the public to observe and experience firsthand. Since 2022, Will Legend has been dedicated to promote the protection of land, food, and biodiversity through the “Urban Wildlife Corridor”. The programme uses bees and sunflowers as the main characters and follows a three-part approach: first, planting flowering plants to protect bees; then, using bees to protect forests; and finally, protecting food and biodiversity. Furthermore, through the “Willy Bee – The Journey of Glacier, Land and Ocean” storybook and SDG Green School Talk, the philosophy of mitigating climate change by integrating glaciers, land, and ocean is presented to the public in an easy-to-understand way.

Safeguarding Ocean and Air – “Let The Ocean Breathe” Conservation & Education Programme

8 Jun, Celebrating United Nations World Oceans Day – 2026 “Reimagine”. Will Legend with You “Reimagine” to build “an ocean on land” where furthest from the sea, thus reconstructing the relationship between humanity and the ocean, and jointly building a sustainable future. On 8 June, 2022, Will Legend established the “Let the Ocean Breathe” Conservation and Education Programme, becoming its founding organization, with CEO William Hung as its founder. The ocean covers over 70% of the Earth, supporting human life and every living thing on Earth. It exhales at least 50% of the Earth’s oxygen and absorbs approximately 30% of its carbon dioxide, mitigating the effects of climate change. Given the vastness of the ocean, past conservation efforts have either been broadly framed as “protecting the ocean” or focused on protecting individual marine species. However, implementation has proven elusive. While raising public awareness is crucial, it’s often difficult to get people up close, to see, and touch. With this in mind, the “Let the Ocean Breathe” uses three key elements: The Ocean Crossing Journey of Small Algae & Big Whale, Jointly Promoting Ocean Preservation Initiatives with National Agencies, visit to the Tianshan Glacial Lake (Ocean on Land) to Explore Sustainable Fisheries. Ultimately, we aim to simultaneously implement philosophy and practices, collaborating with scientists, representatives of enterprises and organizations, teachers, students, and the public to promote a sustainable future for humanity and nature. “Ocean on Land” and Sustainable Fisheries. Marine pollution continues to worsen. Approximately 52 million tons of plastic waste enter the ocean each year, forming about 24 trillion microplastic particles that affect more than 4,000 marine species. Meanwhile, marine food systems face severe challenges. In 2021, 37% of global fish populations were overfished. In 2025, Will Legend connected with green enterprises in Ili Prefecture, Xinjiang, showcasing Xinjiang as the province furthest from the ocean. Meltwater from glaciers in the Tianshan Mountains of Xinjiang creates an “ocean on land”, nurturing glacial salmon. These green enterprises utilize natural resources to practice sustainable fisheries, accelerating rural assistance and revitalization. In 2026, Will Legend began extending its initiative to reduce marine fishing and pollution to Turpan, known as the “Land of Fire”, and Korla, close to the desert, through the “Let the Glacier Cool – Xinjiang Glacier Journey”. Meltwater from high-altitude glaciers serves as a natural water source for aquaculture. Empowered by technology and green energy, sustainable fisheries are being built, reducing the burden on the ocean. Even deep within the Taklamakan Desert (desert and Gobi), sandy land can be transformed into aquaculture bases, achieving a win-win situation for both ecological and economic benefits.
