“Let The Glacier Cool” Hong Kong’s First SDG & ESG Educational Tour
128 Hong Kong teachers, students and parents visited Dagu Glacier 4860, The Third Pole (HK) Glacier Museum & Landmark, China Qiang Museum (Maoxian Qiang Museum), Wenchuan Earthquake Site, Yangrong Hade, Dujiangyan, Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, Haohai Cubic Ocean Paradise, Sichuan Opera Theater of Sichuan Province etc., appreciated traditional culture, practiced ethnic exchanges, conducted popular science activities, protected precious nature, and witnessed the development of the country, which ultimately led to the success of the first tour. The Lonely Willy Bee The story begins with Tashi Willy Bee looking for the last piece of pure land on earth. In 2050, the climate was severely warming, all glaciers had melted, and fresh water resources were almost impossible to find; ocean phytoplankton was extinct, and the Earth was filled with greenhouse gas carbon dioxide, making it no longer possible to breathe clean air; there were no forests on the land, and it was too polluted to grow food crops, living things are almost extinct. Tashi Willy Bee sincerely prayed to the sky to bless humans and nature. Finally, with the help of the power of nature, he returned to the Earth in 2020 through time and space, and then embarked on a journey to find the last piece of pure land on the Earth with Dele Flowery. By planting the seeds of life, and rewriting the “Green-blueprint” of humans and nature, they hope to reverse the fate of the Earth. Chasing Dreams – 128 Parents, Teachers and Students Set Foot on the Third Pole of Earth
Hong Kong’s first SDG & ESG Educational Tour with the theme of “Let the Glacier Cool” Conservation and Education Programme, St. Hilary’s Primary Section and S.T.F.A. Lee Kam Primary School bravely explored the glaciers on Third Pole Qinghai-Tibet Plateau from April 1 to 3, 2024 and became Hong Kong’s first “Let the Glacier Cool” SDG & ESG Educational Tour. 128 students and their parents prayed for blessings in the wind, climbed to the Dagu Glacier at an altitude of 4860 meters, conducted a popular science experiment on collecting fresh snow and “Greenhouse Cooling Patch”, learned about ice and snow ecology and glacier water resources, walked through the forest, and saw glacial lakes, admired wildlife, painted colorful rocks, and held the hands of ethnic minorities to jointly implement the “Green-blueprint Initiative.” A Model of In-depth Exchanges Between Hong Kong and Mainland of China

Compared with traditional study tours, Hong Kong Will Legend SDG & ESG Educational Tours are supported by charity, conservation, education and scientific research programmes. The difficulty lies in how to transform the lofty concept of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature from a slogan into a practical plan for integrating into society. As it is necessary to connect different government bodies, institutions and organizations in Hong Kong and Mainland of China, and to jointly display the same belief in different backgrounds, it does have to go through many challenges. The successful holding of this joint event between Hong Kong and Mainland of China, which has brought about opportunities for social economy, tourism, development and national integration, is thanks to Wen Dingqing, Director of the Dagu Glacier Management Bureau, and, Professor Wang Feiteng, Global Cryosphere Monitoring Program (GCW) and the Third Pole Regional Climate Service Center (TPRCC) with their foresight and strong support.
Hong Kong Will Legend – A Journey to Safeguard Glaciers

Hong Kong Will Legend created the “Let the Glacier Cool” conservation and education programme, which focuses on protecting glaciers and promoting the importance of glaciers and glacier as water resources to humans and living things. Hong Kong Will Legend leads the journey to safeguard glaciers, showing the public and students how to apply the concept of “Supporting Social and Economic Development with Glacier Ecosystems, and Giving Back to Glacier Conservation with Economic Outcomes” – meaning while improving economic and social development, we should practice peaceful and balanced coexistence with nature and seek sustainable development of peace, health and prosperity for humans now and in the future. Although glaciers are far away from us, if each of us can love nature and is willing to shoulder the responsibility of environmental protection while developing, we can protect the glaciers, slow down the melting speed of glaciers, reduce the rate of glacier ablation and, save the future of humans. As long as we can persist in practicing the integration of humans, society, economy and nature, and the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature, Willy Bee will no longer be lonely, and we will not become lonely human beings!
