Will Legend Pollinator Garden

Will Legend inspires people, and organizations to create more pollinator habitats. Plant a pollinator garden, any size is great! From window and patio planters, to home gardens, to pathways and roadsides, to prairies and meadows, to rooftops of school, commercial buildings – all can help. The more flowering plants, and trees will help improve bee’s, butterfly’s and even wildlife animal’s health, and numbers.

Common nectar plants in Hong Kong are Hawthorn, Lantana, Pentas, Blue Plumbago, Chinese Hibiscus, Britton’s Wild Petunia, Billygoat-weed, Bidens alba, and Ixora etc. Some Trees like Ivy Tree is one of the few flowering plants in winter, and attracts many butterflies, and bees when it blooms. Butterfly larvae feed on host plants, Mandarin (Citrus reticulata)、Turmeric, Chinese Knotweed, Kwai Fah, Dwarf Date Palm (Phoenix roebelenii) and Ramie (Boehmeria nivea) etc.

How You Can Support

Pollinator Garden can be a great platform for educating, and building your community. A school or home yard can be transformed into an outdoor classroom for kids, business employees can plant a workplace garden together, and a community garden, all these can create a wildlife corridor for the beautiful insect and animal pollinators.

Forester Horticulture and Will Legend together will help you to build your own pollinator garden. We, and the Sunflower Ambassador will go to your places for inspection, and then customize a growing plan which fits to your needs.

Please register your workplace, school yard, home yard or garden in support of this educational & CSR initiative.

Pollinator Gardens should

  • grow plants that provide nectar and pollen sources
  • ideally be situated in sunny areas with wind breaks
  • a variety of flowers continuous bloom throughout the year
  • no pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides can be used

A healthy nature nourishes our body, lifts up our spirit, builds our community and makes the world a better place. Will Legend helps educate kids about the vital role of pollinators, and the importance of protecting and nurturing them through conservation programmes, activities, and outreach. Please encourage your little sprouts to participate in outdoor nature activities at Will’s Nature School.
